The end of the fall sitting should not pass without some mention of perhaps the least consequential question ever raised in the history of Question Period.
Is this civil?
The 15 minutes immediately preceding Question Period each day are set aside for “statements by members.” These statements generally involve members saluting recently passed constituents, championing dearly held causes or making note of momentous sporting events.
Patronizing? Sexist? Or merely unnecessary?
As the Globe notes, there is apparently some concern being raised over this answer offered by Public Safety Minister Vic Toews yesterday during QP, as it relates to the NDP’s Niki Ashton.
