Last week, I was in Chicago, taking a short holiday, visiting some friends and catching up on the latest trends in skyscraper architecture (which point, by the way, very high – 150 storeys high, to be exact, which is the lofty ceiling of the new Santiago Calatrava spire going up at the mouth of the Chicago River).

Denver is like Calgary, sort of…

I spent my childhood in Calgary and have always heard that Denver was similar. And it’s true — the city has a shiny downtown and the Rocky Mountains within view; They have plus 15 walkways, and even an LRT line.  So Denver is a bit like Calgary — except with a cop on every corner and a giant truck driving around with a massive photo of a bloodied fetus and the words “ABORTION IS AN OBAMANATION”:
